FORMATIVE YEARS
It is well with my body, mind and soul. Born in 1970, I was adopted by a wonderful man and woman and grew up with two great siblings. Thanks—in part—to adoption, my parents raised three first-born children—which is one thing that makes our parents even more wonderful!
I was raised and have resided in Oakland County, experiencing city, country and suburbs: Hazel Park to Ortonville/Southfield (home/school) and now, Waterford for almost three decades.
After two years in public school, I attended and graduated from the school at which my mom taught—Southfield Christian School. I received my bachelor’s degree in communication from Wayne State University with a major in public relations.
FAMILY OF SIX
I’ve been married to an amazing man for 31 years. As husbands go, he’s the finest. He loves me like Messiah loves his bride. We have four grown children, all whom have brought us much joy and consternation. We love whenever we get to spend time with them.
Scott and I have travelled the world, but find our favorite spot is home in Waterford and also in Paris, Michigan, where we spend as much time as we can in the summer and fall. We love being outside and enjoying time with family and friends.
I have worked in healthcare marketing, written a newspaper column and started a non-profit. My best years have been dedicated to homemaking—the necessity of good meals and clean laundry—but more importantly, supporting my husband and nurturing our children. And the Lord continues to lead me through new seasons.
FAITH
My life’s purpose is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. He has revealed himself through all of creation, his written word and The Word made flesh, Messiah Yeshua/Jesus Christ. He has shown us what is good, and what he requires (Micah 6:8). He is the way, the truth and the life. Not just one of many ways. No one comes to God except through Yeshua (John 14:6).
I am saved from my sinful self and eternal separation from God solely because of his grace, by trusting that he is who he says he is. We are all masterpieces, made in God’s image, to do good. (Ephesians 2:8-10) “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by whom we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
All the aforementioned people are my biggest support and inspiration. And so are many of you! I desire to write—with honesty, passion, conviction and humility—about the beautiful and terrible truths I have discovered on my journey so that others may be enlivened and encouraged on their way. The light shines in the darkness and has overcome it!
